Everyone is talking similar rates to 5 years ago then. Not a great deal of money to be made for contractors.
No money to be made by the contractor at £150/ac. That’s for sure even if it’s an easy working farm with just the basics.
No, the subsidy was supposed to keep people on the land, which is what happens in france.Wasn't the idea of subsidy to keep food cheap for the masses, i fear quite a bit goes to range rover dealership's not its original purpose.
it seems to me if you already have the kit these rates are quite profitable if you have the time to do them
True, but then the kit needs swapping, usually for bigger and more expensive.it seems to me if you already have the kit these rates are quite profitable if you have the time to do them
it seems to me if you already have the kit these rates are quite profitable if you have the time to do them
And no money made by the landowner if you want more than £150/acre
Nonsenseit seems to me if you already have the kit these rates are quite profitable if you have the time to do them
It has to be a really bad harvest/prices for the landowner and myself not to take away well over £150 each. Jobs not worth doing for either of us if that is not the case. And no money made by the landowner if you want more than £150/acre
More diesel ,more wear(I ought to put that in the old sage thread)Nonsense
You have to buy the fuel, and the kit will wear out twice as fast, and you will have management time, travel, meetings etc
Its a fools game
Sitting in the office with your feet up!What's management time !?
Spraying and spreading only cost that if everything brought to the field and spreader loaded. The extras to get to £150:
Load in, push up, load out, hedge cutting, general tidying, insurance, three more spray passes.
Granted, rolling, spraying, spreading are only really costing £1.50/AC.
Doing BPS forms on a Sunday because you were too busy in the week spreading fert, loading pigs, crop inspecting and organising the sprayer. What's management time !?
