Probably am but not a mad man.
Quite a few have done just that hence my doubt
Probably am but not a mad man.
I have put in cubicles for the suckers cows as got sick of paying astronomical straw prices. Have got good access to grazing ground via tracks. So only major investment is parlour and dairy. Oh and cows of coarse.Quite a few have done just that hence my doubt
Long gestation bull. Was it a limo?I heard a tale of a chap once, bought 300 hfrs to serve.
They stared calving down 12 months later. Not only was there no milk contact, Parlour wasn't finished either.
they are not looking for spring milk, we had to 'enlarge' our autumn block, to sign up with them. They have just lost a very large producer, Y farms, so probably worth a call.No I haven't didn't think they came that far. Only 7 miles from tiv. Will ring tomorrow thanks

Arla contract transferred from home farm to there apparently.Lad from Derby has gone in with a few cows and a lot of young stock. Dont know where the milk is going.
I'm in mid Devon and need to get a milk contract most of the company's I've tried don't need any at the moment. Any help much appreciated
Depends on contract.What breed? Jersey's?
all the processors ought to be encouraging the younger farmers into milking, but putting a 'minimum' production on new contracts, makes that start up out of reach, through sheer cost, for many potential young farmers, a very short term view, driven by the bean counters. How many you planning on milking first year. Was told you need minimum 300k in the first year for Crediton and 500k second year ideally
Had the very same conversation yesterday with someone.all the processors ought to be encouraging the younger farmers into milking, but putting a 'minimum' production on new contracts, makes that start up out of reach, through sheer cost, for many potential young farmers, a very short term view, driven by the bean counters.
They need to be able to find the farms firstHad the very same conversation yesterday with someone.
Would be nice to see new entrants given some encouragement through a scheme. Have to be criteria to prevent Son's/Daughter's setting up satellite farms.
I would be surprised when we started out with a few cows they were very surportive. How many you planning on milking first year. Was told you need minimum 300k in the first year for Crediton and 500k second year ideally
