Quite a few have done just that hence my doubt
I have put in cubicles for the suckers cows as got sick of paying astronomical straw prices. Have got good access to grazing ground via tracks. So only major investment is parlour and dairy. Oh and cows of coarse.

How many you planning on milking first year. Was told you need minimum 300k in the first year for Crediton and 500k second year ideally 🤷‍♂️

all the processors ought to be encouraging the younger farmers into milking, but putting a 'minimum' production on new contracts, makes that start up out of reach, through sheer cost, for many potential young farmers, a very short term view, driven by the bean counters.

Had the very same conversation yesterday with someone.
Would be nice to see new entrants given some encouragement through a scheme. Have to be criteria to prevent Son's/Daughter's setting up satellite farms.
