Spoke to the chap I deal with at RPf this morning and he said they were getting hell of a lot of spring lambs coming forward. Seems lambs that have been fed have done very well in this dry weather we have had. So wouldn’t like to be holding onto hoggs for many more weeks.

I think you have maybe waited to long to start putting them onto feed. 3/4 weeks will see them sheared and close to being sold as breeders without the feed.

Local collection centre that Guth mentioned was collecting twice this week due to demand has now sent out to say fully booked.

Sedgemoor today i had hogs 48.7kg @ £141.50 and 48.9 @ £143.
Didn't want the Exlanas today they were £100😡 They would have been better off dw by about £40/hd. Staff were lazy though and didn't pick them at all - buyers must have asked for the exlanas separate cos they weren't weighed and penned separately😕 They were 48 to 50+ kg too so robbed there.
I know there was at least 1 hog in second pen over 60kg. Not disputing overall weight, just they could/ should have picked them better.
Exeter next time....

Auctioneer deserves a thrashing for that kind of thing IMO.. probably only 1 buyer wanting them and auctioneer was afraid too run him too where they should be...

Exeter this morning was pretty chaotic. Neighbour had in a few pens of NSL , he dropped off to go get his culls and cane back to see them penned any how and not as he’d marked them.

I took in 4 hoggs and they did not mouth them and I’ve not seen them sold or wieghed as needed to get home.

Wait time in queue was nearly an hour
