I have a De Boer telescopic gate, it is lovely. I have two points to attach it to make a big or small holding pen. I have another point where I use here I can just jam it in a corner.
Watch your fingers (or someone elses) when you slide it in...

Just thinking if the op still wants to go down the telescopic route why not weld loops on the outside of the main gate and slide the other gate alongside seems less chance of jamming if bent.
We had a couple of gates similar on another farm although they slid between two bits of heavy channel welded to main gate rather than tubes. That way you can still have plenty of uprights on the gate if needed for strength.
