Missing tags is up to 10% then over that you’re in trouble with sfp
yes, there are many variations of pipe, thickness of rubber, and different mil sizes. But make sure it's the right spec/sizes. Pipes under vacuum need to be thicker walled than those under pressure ie after the milk pump.
we freeze brand last 3 or 4 numbers of ear tag, onto cow, problem solved. There is nothing wrong at all in a cow having a missing tag. The problem arises when you know you have a missing tag and don't sort it.
Red tractor can't have a problem with one or two but can a third of the herd.
Mine is in the next 4 months with 48 hours notice so need to prepared, dont know what to do about the pipes now as I havent got thousands to spend but cant afford for her to give me a non conformance for them, will have to see what milk stone remover does18 months to your next inspection ,so I wouldn’t change anything other than liners which will be around £20 a set and the short pulse tubes which you can pick up at local coop
The long pulse/milk tubes are silicone and will last years ,had some do 15 plus years and when we renewed them the stains were back within weeks
Don't think this would class as an official unique id number, all bovine animals must be double tagged with matching tags that contain their unique idwe freeze brand last 3 or 4 numbers of ear tag, onto cow, problem solved.
made a boo boo and sent a fat cow to the abattoir with only one tag which she lost on the way! Only means of id was her 3 digit freeze brand which matched her ear tag.Don't think this would class as an official unique id number, all bovine animals must be double tagged with matching tags that contain their unique id

What tags do you use, shearwell are usually pretty good at stopping in.Our old vets didnt believe us when we said we had a cow that lost her tag within about 30 seconds of us putting it in her ear, we ended up buying a run of tags just for her and would put one in her ear every time the vets came out which ended up annoying them even more still have 2 tags left buy weve switched vets so she doesnt have them in her ear atm but have them there for when we have an inspection
Moved over to shearwell from mole valley last year and have found them much better still get the odd one but nowhere near as muchWhat tags do you use, shearwell are usually pretty good at stopping in.
no it isn't, but between your herd register, and freeze brand, it's a long way to proving that cow is xyz, that lost its tag.Don't think this would class as an official unique id number, all bovine animals must be double tagged with matching tags that contain their unique id
Possibly down to sacking red Tractor off in a previous capacity. They wont forget & are probably making him suffer as a resulttried spraying some milk stone remover on the pipes ? Works well here, but your water is totally different to ours, a lesson learn't from holidays, same amount of shampoo we use here, gives an unbelievable amount of suds, with you, worth a try though.
Sounds like you are trying to do 'to much', and not keeping on top of 'things', just remember the time spent in the parlour, is when you actually make your money, everything else lives off that.
Does sound like you have a bit of a jobsworth rt lady, down to luck of the draw, being to 'obliging' may encourage her to 'find' more problems.
All our freeze brands are the same as the ear tag last digits and line number, closed herd so never any problems. However, RT and Defra don't accept freeze brands.we freeze brand last 3 or 4 numbers of ear tag, onto cow, problem solved.
No because they havent been sacked off yet this time, they will be in due course mind, we left before and they convinced us to rejoin and our next inspection is next month but it wont be happeningPossibly down to sacking red Tractor off in a previous capacity. They wont forget & are probably making him suffer as a result
