I just can’t see a lot of them doing it to the honest, there is now 2-3 generations (basically since the war) that have never had livestock and don’t have the foggiest about livestock in some areas…
I’m in a jam packed livestock full part of the country yet trying to find someone to help the odd day here or there or full time is almost impossible.

A Supermarket supplying group phoned me in October saying they were taking 1,000 store lambs down not far from me but they needed someone to shepherd them, swift response of if they did find anyone to let me know so I could employ them 😂
In the end I don’t know what happened but I know they would’ve struggled!

One of my landlords bought stores and ran them a few years ago. They made a good profit between buying and selling price. But they weren't moved regularly enough, and the compaction meant reduced arable yields.

All you hill men complaining about store price, and not being able to find local finishing keep. Send them to a contract finisher or set up a joint venture with someone in the east. Be entrepreneurial. Get out there and find the opportunities.

This is not an advert for business. Do not DM me. I work exclusively with 1 customer and don't want any more.

What upsets me is these early lamb sellers buggering up hogg sales.
They have pushed lambs onto the market and subsequently devalued hogg sales and also devalued their own lambs at the same time!
Lambs should be sold at the correct time NOT during hogg season [emoji851]
Sorry but if I'd of early lambed I'd be doing the same.
