Whilst we may like the programme, guess who gives it One Star .....

think that review says more about the guardian’s ignorance and contempt for anything out-with their own monbiot, unicorn filled dream world than Clarkson.

bet Lucy Mangan is a hoot on a night out too, Christ, I bet she was one of those girls at school who did nothing, participated in nothing other than slagging off everyone with her little gang of miserable little girlie tosspots.

Looked switched on to me , knows about H&S as he should , that’s the whole point !! Point it out and call it out for being silly if it is .
No agreed, but it grinds my gears a bit, am of that age where I believe some of us still have some common sense and dont need to be told what to do every 5 mins! Antiquated views in today's modern society I'm sure.
I have a friend who is an H&S bod and I am actually surprised they ever get around to doing any work at all

Being TV neanderthals here with just an old 32" Freeview only set how would we get to see the series without eating any money on new viewing kit?

Most of the year our TV stays off for a week at a time.....
Wondering the same here

It does appear, from the 'rave' reviews it's getting on here, it may be one of TV land's offerings that's worth a look.

I believe daughter and son in law maybe are Amazon customers, so with the relaxarion of lockdown, I might get a 'butchers'. :scratchhead:

2 things sprung to mind in the first episode, why a 3m cultivator when at that depth it would pull 6m and why cultivate in front of the Claydon anyway
He is on a bit of a learning curve as regards what machines can do and the machinery he bought I understand was from his retiring tenants sale which I think was commendable to help the guy in his retirement sale even though he could have bought new elsewhere if he wanted

I was at that sale and he was made to give a good price for everything he wanted.

I think you can get a free month trial on Amazon Prime, and you should be able to watch it on your computer although I know it's not always the most comfortable way to watch, all episodes are available as far as I'm aware, so you could watch them all then just cancel your free trial. We've just upgraded to a smart TV and to be fair it was only £240 for a 40 inch off Currys.

my neighbour couldn't start his digger and could not work out why, his son had been on it, and had used the seat belt, when he got off, obviously he unclipped it. Usually it is clipped in, but wrapped behind the seat so as not to be in the way!
Can better that, my father wanted the main tractor to take a loaded trailer on a 4hr trip to another farm. Had an irate phone call (more than normal) he couldnt understand why he couldnt get the tractor started, much colourful language ensued and eventually once he'd run out of expletives and I managed to get a word in, I asked simply if he had depressed the clutch while starting it. He hung up, he had only been trying to get it going for nigh on an hour!

either view it on the computer or plug the computer into the tv, whilst streaming it, you will still have to pay amazon for their prime video subscription. To plug the computer into the TV you need an HDML cable and a TV that is capable of running it. I think the answer is to have a 25 year old son who can show you what to do!

Times review by Hugo Rifkind has this to say:

“.. then along the way something remarkable happens. Which is that he starts to care. The jokes ebb and honesty comes in their place. .....

As you get to watch a familiar face grow smitten with his new life, coming to understand the responsibility of feeding Britain with all the lonely, holy purpose of a lighthouse keeper. In the end, it’s just a lovely documentary series about life on a farm. If perhaps a quite expensive one.”

That’ll do me.

Not really his fault what he purchased machinery wise as the land agent gave him a list, and he already had seen the tractor before then I seem to remember 🤔

Yes, you need to be subscribed to Amazon Prime which will then allow you to stream the show on your computer, off a tab on the Amazon shopping home page. Go for Business Prime if you are VAT registered, because that gives you downloadable VAT invoices where relevant and warnings if the vendor is not VAT registered. You get Prime TV regardless.
I have both business and private Prime and can toggle between accounts. It makes keeping tabs of purchases and invoices much easier. Easier still is that I generally have Business account on Safari and private on Chrome browsers, so I just open whichever is relevant to the type of shopping I have to do.

Obviously a fairly fast internet account is needed to watch Prime TV without insufferable buffering interruptions. However you will find Prime TV to be much more efficient at streaming content than, say, a video to an equivalent quality on BBC News or YouTube.
