Question, Saturday paper Grass watch says grass now is m+18, what do cows giving 25/30 litres need meal wise? Does the winter guide of 0.3kg/litre still stand? I have to say any cow giving 18 litres here would be getting 3kg/day but then I wouldn't have perfect grass. Standing hay I think the English call it. Impossible to manage at the moment.

Standing hay maybe but we’re finding they are holding incredibly well on it .not fussed on cutting too much in case we wish we had it if this dry weather holds out
I’m really surprised how they’re milking. Yes there’s seed heads but lovely green sole too. If I followed official guidance,I would mow everything and bale. Scared. North wind last night. Needed coat to bring in cows. Forecast 4 degrees tonight.

We pre mowed lot of grass over last week, left it to bare now and have no grass now

That should wash in any slurry residues unless you used a dribble bar,need a flood of biblical proportions to wash that in, plus for the good auld spread plate

The solids don't wash in, whatever way you spread them. They get broken down over time.
