CNH beacon bulbs

Anybody else on here had issues with case or new holland beacons? I know the local contractor had issues with his T6s with the beacon bulbs going, and the ones on my maxxum seem to last about 30 or 40 hours of use before blowing. Have tried lucas that they sell at the dealer and hella, neither last more than a few hours of use.

Had the same problem on a T7. Both would go together. Wondered with both going together, maybe a surge of electricity if that's possible?

think the contractor has gone to LED beacons now because of it, but i personally dislike them. Surge of electric could be it, but caused by what? and how would you stop that? Our maxxum is only a single beacon, so no way to tell if its the same.

Agreed they’re rubbish. Not sure about the surge. I hardly used the beacons and then when I needed them they’ve blown bulbs. Probably worth an email to new Holland to explain the issue. You can buy voltage stabilisers would be interested to see if they’d work. Seems older vehicles had more problems with stabilising voltage.

I’ve just looked and yes you can buy these. Would be better if new Holland fitted them as standard if they work. Considering the price of the machines.

Can you not replace the bulb with an equivalent led bulb the same size?
as in you can buy a new LED beacon or you can get a bulb for the existing beacon that works the same way just with an LED rather than a hallogen?

i wouldn't fit an LED bulb conversion, they are generally crap especially in work lights due to the reflectors not being suitable for the type of light an LED emits and IF there was a accident with HSE involved they might not approve of fitting a non standard non approved bulb as the beacon will no longer meet its original manufactures regulations?

put a volt metre on it and see what the voltage is? maybe the alternator regulator pack has failed and its put out too many volts or maybe you can add an inline voltage stabilizer to the beacon circuit if you dont want to go to a proper LED beacon.

well HSE would probably prefer a badly working LED bulb to a broken bulb. Im not going to buy another bulb every few weeks. I doubt it is a fault with the alternator regulator unless that is a very common thing, as i know the contractor had this problem on all his NH T6s and T7s.
