New York Times is the Daily Express , bordering on the Sunday Sport, of the US. Wouldn't give it too much credibility.
I think you have got that a bit mixed up, no idea how you come to that conclusion. The NYT is one of the few serious newspapers left in the world, with real journalists and reporters travelling the world.
Admittedly it is not the paper it was 50 years ago, but it is certainly up with the Times of London in its campaigning. If you had called it the Grauniad of American papers, you would probably have been far closer to the mark, but with American politics where they are, that places them on a level with the Telegraph and Mail.

Yes it has, when you are queuing up with 50 or 60 asylum seekers to have your fingerprints taken by an embarrassed French official, you begin to realise being British nowadays in the world counts for jack sh!t. A British passport and the words "allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance" used to mean something. Probably why Bozza isn't keen to let anyone travel abroad atm.
if theres now border control thats not a bad thing

This is surreal.

Boris has just sold his soul to Satan!! "Build back better" is fake President OBidens slogan, otherwise known as Make America cr*p again!
I was told a while ago that Boris was neither a Globalist or a Brexiteer, he was just interested in what or whomever would keep him in power! Obviously Biden has just made him his poodle, which is a big mistake as the Fake Prez wont be around for much longer :finger:

Hate to pish on your bonfire but have you ever tried returning to the UK with a British passport? You would think all ports of entry would have a lane for bearers of such as they would be easy and straight forward to re-enter their own country. Instead you get obliged to wait in a lane full of EU passport holders and treated like a criminal. Such is the nature of the border force/customs in this country and it has been so for years, long before Brexit was a thing.

I don't know why you are complaining so much, you seem to be in 2016 mode perpetually. We get it: you hate Britain and have moved to France. You can stop smacking that pony now.

I see your hysterical economic predictions have all proven wrong as well given the way the UK economy is currently performing, all that pent up demand and a big stimulus to push up wage inflation given the nature of much tighter border and immigration controls we have in place now which has caused a drop in the number of foreign nationals seeking work here. As unpleasant as that all sounds many people who voted for brexit did so because they believed the large numbers of foreign nationals freely entering the country from the EU made it possible for employers to keep wages dead low. Turns out there must have been some truth in it as I hear in Cornwall a waitress can earn reasonable money for once and of course the distribution, haulage and construction industries are all seeing some much-needed cause to think again when it comes to employing people.

I've heard this as well. Hospitality struggling for staff. I think people are just sick of being ripped off and want a decent deal for their time given and I don't blame them at all.

It is only a matter of time before tax increases are put in and the national minimum wage is £10/hour. The worst culprits of course are the NHS and similar big businesses who seem to want to employ people for the lowest possible cost even though it is often false economy.

Loads of people on the 'gig' economy also just got dumped and had no support while they watched their civil servant neighbours being paid a full wage to watch Tipping Point and sit in the garden. These same 'key workers' are now going to get a 30% discount on new houses. For the rest of us, time for a new strategy.

The whole self-employed/gig economy thing IS a con and the government should have stepped in years ago and put a stop to it. It has to stop.
