Andrew Neil's 'GB News'

Even the Times were hinting that the BBC were behind the problems.

I do love a good conspiracy theory

Might moles from the Beeb have tweaked advertising algorithms so that businesses aimed at young people can clutch their pearls and their handbag straps in outrage as their pure, untainted, wares are made visible on this unsuitable new platform?

what were you expecting, presumably using the word gammon channel 4 news with more presenters

I was expecting a watchable, reasoned take on current affairs. No prizes for its direction of lean, but something rather fresher than the programme titles that sprang to mind ~ I'm not alone in thinking of them, apparently.

I had obviously forgotten to factor in Andrew Neil in full, but had expected Thingumy from BBC World News to be less curbed. I certainly didn't expect Trustafarian Trises and Castas. The Fox of Mysogynistic Gloom is always light relief, but they're already scraping a barrel by having him on.

Its definitely slicker and the sound has improved. Not one for rolling news but I'll probably watch it a bit from time to time.

I don't think there's anything wrong with allowing presenters to air their opinions, as long as you have a range of opinions which is where the BBC et al have failed miserably.

I read a comment somewhere, that it's not that the BBC is trying to be overtly biased, but there would be newspapers lying around, and it would always be the Guardian, you would never find a Telegraph anywhere at all, so the whole culture was that they just could not understand why anyone would think anything differently to them.

Ah, you read that in the Telegraph….

just read an article in the Telegraph, Kopperburg, Ikea, Nivea, Open University & Grolsch have all withdrawn their advertising from the channel, so I will be boycotting them all (which to be fair means nothing, as I never use any of them!!)
I might be wrong, but my impression was that GB News watchers drink real ale rather than Koppaburg and Grolsch, buy ready assembled furniture have hands as rough as a badgers backside but think moisturising is for jessies and firmly believe in education from the University of Life. Really can't see what any of the above would gain from advertising with them.
The statements they have put out are masterpieces of corporate Bull****, such as Koppaburg is for everyone, no it isn't its for ill educated teenagers who don't know any better

that is not the issue, it is what is read/provided in the communal areas we are discussing.
I can recall the mentioned article stating not only how many copies of the Guardian were purchased by the BBC, but also other public bodies. Its a huge part of their income. A few years back when employers depended on newspaper job adverts, virtually all public sector vacancies could only be found in the Guardian Society supplement.

The BBC buys something like 20,000 copies of The Guardian and uses the rag for advertising jobs.

It's a one way door to biased coverage .. will be glad when it ceases to exist.

And guess what .. The Guardian isn't part of the national "Press complaints" body. They adjuducate their own articles .. in other words they print whatever they like and screw the public.

Another dead beat self serving "organisation" .. funded by a Trust I think.
