Previous tory majority of 16'000. That's a hell of a good result for the lib dems.
After Brexit the main objection to Lib Dem policy has been removed. It is interesting to note that the Labour candidate only polled 622 votes, so it is obvious that people are looking to stick the boot in but don`t see Labour as the party to do it.

Labour must accept the need to cooperate with the lib democrats. This probably means abandoning the old Labour commitment to the FPTP electoral system.

It would be a mistake to think this is in any way an endorsement of Liberal policy, it's simply everyone is sick of Bozo's pathetic leadership, the Tories will try & blame HS2 but that would be a mistake also, any reasonable Labour leader other than Starmer & the Tories would be toast at the next election unless they dump Bozo!!
