Broke another comb today (that's 3 so far this season) it was just nicely run in, in its prime, 3 more grinds and it would be a nice lamb comb. Thank God it was only an el cheapo from George mudge. The heiniger I broke on its first go out last week made me cry.
I hate full belly fecking ewes

Being a leftie I live in the el cheapo world. Bloody glad I can't buy (and break) heiniger combs 🤣 it's bad enough breaking the Ace/Horner/Beiyuan £10 jobs

Finally finshed clipping the 300 mules yesterday. Latest ever but its been a late year. Thankfully I have 300 shredders as well or I would be panicking with the weather being perfect for maggots and backing.

Used to have a clipping trailer when I clipped thousands a year for all the neighbours and then got a shearing gate for the pen but getting too old and clip on my own so I now just clip them in the pen, saves dragging or loading ewes up ramps and less set up time as ewes are all in lots of 50 to 60.

Definitely the happiest day of the year when the last ewe is clipped. Can now decide when I see the sheep without the worry of backed ewes and guessing when is the right time to see them to catch backed ewes but not go too early and miss any that back later.

Clipped our last mob of Herdwicks today to finish the season.

Left these about 10 days ago after doing the other mob which weren't ready.
They certainly went all the better for having a bit more time, although half a dozen were still a bit sticky.

Beginning to think it's time to ......

....hang up my handpiece :(

The mind's still willing but the body seems to be telling me it's time to pack up :X3: It's started to really hurt a few times this year so I think we'll have to have a different going on next year.
