Not condoning what they did and the story is written to negatively impact farmer also but some of the issues raised if even half true should be delt with.

My 20 year old self would have done exactly what he did. Take control of the situation, let them know whose boss and not to be ****ed with.

My 40 year old self would grab a backpack sprayer filled with potassium permanganate solution ("i'm spraying you down with disinfectant as you broke the farm's biosecurity protocols") and have at 'em. Nothing to do with the fact that any naked skin would be stained turd brown by the PP, of course. That never even crossed my mind. Honest.

*edit*

Why the difference? I'm too old to be messing with flying kicks these days.

If the farm is in an assurance scheme then there should be questions asked if the claims are true regarding welfare. Obviously not doing its job

Agree, those protestors were trespassing and were in the wrong but police don't seem to be interested in that.

Where can we contribute to his defense? Trespass, terrorism and theft are the signature moves of these scum and the police turn a blind eye. One of these days someone will be killed and the police will have no answers to the questions about how this situation escalated.
In America you'd get public plaudits for shooting them if they invaded your home or workplace. Here you're supposed to offer them tea and a nice bit of cake. British law is a shambles with regards to folk enjoying what they own without being expected to welcome all and sundry on to their farms. I bet if I wanted to do a bit of 'investigative journalism' at Sellafield or B.A.E there would be police and guns and charges pressed.

They’ve set this petition up to try and changes things in terms of trespass on farm. I’m sure they’d be grateful for a signature.

There was a lot of coverage of this on social media last weekend, which made quite depressing watching and reading, it’s very difficult to defend some of his actions, I’m sure many would have reacted in a similar way. It did however make me question general farm security, would a locked door into the farrowing sheds have stopped this?
