How much to change JD 6820 mudgaurd pto switch?

Was the fitter called out to replace the switch, or called out to look at why the pto didnt work, or was intermittent?
Obviously the second option will be more expensive. Did they only have to replace the switch, or repair the wires and fit new connector to the switch?

Thats probably 3 hours work including travel time so from the time the fitter is given the job, he spends 15 minutes or so getting the switch from the parts dept, getting away from the workshop, how far from the dealer are you ? 45 minutes ?
so that's the first hour gone, was the tractor standing waiting for him or did he have to wait for the tractor or even find it ?
it's a small job to actually fit the switch but then he makes sure it works as all this takes time then get back to his dealership he then probably books the job the next morning on his job card and 3 hours is a nice round number, as the days jobs have to tally with his hours and I don't suppose the service manager would even know how long he booked on the job as workshops are
busy and the next day's jobs are in , so the card goes through and you get an invoice,
As your unhappy, phone the service manager and discuss it as I am sure they may well have trackers on their vans so he can easily check and clear it up for you

Was the £248 the all in price? (switch + labour+ travel)
Changing the switch should be a simple job if all the bolts on the inner guard unscrew easily. If they don’t you can soon spend a bit of time trying to access the switch, then remove broken bolts etc.
If it was a straight forward job, then sounds expensive.
