What do you have to put in your email for the RPS? Is there a form?
From the NFU - To notify the Environment Agency, farmers must send an email to [email protected] with ‘RPS 252’ in the subject line and the following in the body:

  • Name of the person and company using the RPS, including their email address and phone number
  • Address where you will use the material relating to the RPS
  • Type of material that will be spread.
Farmers wishing to rely on the RPS should take independent advice to ensure that they understand any potential implications of doing so (particularly as there is no guarantee that the RPS will be available in future years), and ensure that they have complied with the requirements attached to the RPS.

Sent mine in a week ago and no reply!

Would this "RPS 252" submission only Id you quickly to EA?

I am working on the basis that they need to know how many people are going to be affected. If no-one responds out of fear then it is too easy for them to do nothing.

Where I am really peeved is that we have ground that needs phosphate but we would not be allowed to apply broiler muck due to the N, ahead of winter wheat.

I have amended the NFU letter and sent to our MP. I would urge all others to do the same.

Have heard of a farmer with a lot of sludge been told the company supplying it won't spread it without his written say so .Apparently it shouldn't be spread, but can't be stored where it is till spring but can't be moved they want nothing to do with it anymore
