Geronimo.

I am sorry but if the Owner had any feeling for this animal it’s final seconds would have been with her keeping it calm.Instead because the owners refused this poor animal who had clearly been a pet was lead away by a gang of police offers etc terrified .Yes the deed had to be done but this publicity over it been dragged away was not animal welfare at its best .However today and many more days to follow farmers will see their favourite cows / cattle taken away on lorries because that’s the law.If this sorry tale highlights anything it’s sort this TB mess out.
Utter shambles, poor thing looked stressed.

Looked like a rope halter and about 12 coppers.

Not much consideration for dignity or animal welfare.
Isn't this were we shout about the significant cost of policing , as the animal rights crowd do about the badger cull, which of course wouldn't have a cost if it wasn't also for them!
And the press are using words like executed, dragged, murdered, firing squad etc etc.
Emotive words as usual

To be fair on the three or four media Facebook posts I've read many readers have come on to ask that to be corrected, ask why the fuss when farmers are losing entire herds built up over a lifetime, blaming the owner for showboating rather than leading her own (frightened) animal. The person leading had the animal on a loose rein and pulling which doesn't look great for it's comfort and welfare

A disgraceful farce.
I hope someone has kept the two positive Enferplex blood samples from this animal to compare with D.NA from the animal they collected. After all, one black alpaca….
Were the posse wearing masks and gloves? If not, they should have been.
The pictures I have seen were full PPE. Shocking that she has not got the guts to calm it in its final moments.

Maybe we farmers would have been far better off supporting this woman & pointing out to the general public the shear total hypocrisy of the government in forcing us farmers to keep alive protected TB infected badgers constantly infecting our cattle whilst insisting on slaughtering this animal!

Not just cattle, they are infecting deer and other wildlife and sheep
Government stupidly is at the bottom of all of it and has been for years
Totally pathetic

I would agree with your comments about the badger situation but I understand there is little evidence of widespread infection in sheep. If they do not have lesions it is unlikely they are spreading TB .
Deer yes the problem is increasing but is there much evidence of them spreading the disease? probably they dare not look!
