I must have missed this post at the time, but although a long time ago I probably fitted a tachograph in the old Atki or similar ones on the fleet, when tacho's first became compulsory
Is Corbett's site still there or has it been developed, not been that way for awhile
I’ve missed these posts as well remember vividly seeing them old girls in the quarries always thought fair play to them for keeping g them going for so long in some pretty hard working conditions

Want to clean the surfaces of that head and block to within an inch of its life.
And worth throwing a straight edge across it, to make sure its not warped. See can you slide feeler gauge in underneath the straightedge. Double check that the torque wrench settings were high enough ...............

Re-tighten head bolts after it warms up (cardboard in front of the radiator to get it hot) and again after it does a bit of work / running ................

Thanks @Mursal for your help, we did all that the last time it was apart. I even took it to a local engineer after completing about 150 miles when the engine was hot.

It’s getting a bit demoralising now. This will be the fourth time we’ve replaced the front gasket. I will send the head away again to somebody else to get it tested.

It's been in Heartbeat a couple of times, once as a sheep rustlers wagon and last time as a brewery wagon, as seen by its current livery.

I'm just fixing a few leaks and niggles on it.

I'm surprised the cab as lasted so long, strange to think when it was built flashing indicators were an optional extra, and those small round mirrors hardly suit todays traffic.

You had to rev the nuts off it to build up enough vacuum at the testing station, or the first brake would pass and the rest would fail, much to the annoyance of the testers who were too idle to fit the exhaust removal equipment to the end of the silencer.

do you know or remember temple think it was j.f from wells next to the sea cattle wagons and general haulage as well as farmers not sure whats happened to them now but were about in the early 80's used to show cattle if my memory is working.
