aluminium conservatory gutter join/sealant

Evening All

we have a lean to type conservatory on the house that's leaking. It's an ogee style and the joiner clicks in on the internal side presumably with some sealant. This was never done right first time round and had to destroy the clear plastic joiner to get it out As it's a really tight area to get your hand in. As a trial bodge in the spring I cleaned it as best I could with various solvents and bodged a patch of polyethylene (silage sheet!) in with some non drying gutter sealant.

didn't work!

I cannot track down the proper join which would make it an easy job so I'm looking for suggestions if anyone has any.

Thank you but no cigar. Their snap fit ogee is remarkably similar but not the same dimensions. I think they came up in one of the many searches I did in the Spring.

company that supplied the lean to and bifolds was Express Bifolds…… their ‘technical’ man won’t return my call so they don’t get a recommendation from me.

C1 sealant is really good stuff not cheap £14 a tube, loads of colours and can be applied to wet surfaces

Is ct1 flexible enough for gutters as they expand/contract?

Yes I’d say so, it really is impressive stuff, I’ll check on an old tube if there is any limitations and get back to you

Thank you for taking the time..... good have googled it myself couldn't I really?! I've ordered some and I'll give it a go.

Did it do the trick? I’ve since discovered OB1 same stuff as CT1 really but cheaper

It seems to have sealed itself! It should be higher on the 'must do' list really but the straw bedder needed repairing.

We have aluminium gutters which need resealing in a few places. Is this sealant the stuff to use?

Had a quick read and it would seem ob1 or ct1 would do well. The trick, as you probably know, is getting the joints/cracks clean and free from grease. Don't use standard window cleaner as it has silicon in it so prevents a good stick. Isopropyl alcohol for the final clean..... maybe a wipe over with brake clean first to remove oils if it's been bodged before.
