Went to deliver some wheat to the mill last night. Pulled on to the scale and they probes the load,I then went into the receiving office to be confronted by an East Indian. No big deal as their are a few working the night shift there and you can alway have a laugh with them while your waiting. Anyhow this man asks me what I’m delivering so I jokingly said barley. This is while he’s holding the wheat sample in his little bucket to be tested So he proceeds to tell me that is great looking barley and has the best bushel weight he’d ever seen i though he was playing along and being sarcastic but after I unloaded and got my weight ticket it had barley written on it. Was waiting on a call from the mill today over it but it never came. Some people need training better if their in a place of responsibility to avoid f up. will be there again on Monday so I’ll see if he still works there.

What’s the difference in price between wheat and barley over there, and will you be paid accordingly?… 🤔

Also is it likely there is now a seam of wheat in the barley bin? 🤣

Barley for pig feed can sometimes be worth more than wheat. Depends on the vomitoxin levels. Low vomi barley comes out of northern Saskatchewan usually. Their weather is dryer than locally and disease is nearly unheard of. Fifteen hours on a truck to get here isn’t cheap. So I might even get a premium lol. They have been taking all my wheat for twenty years so I know the grain buyer pretty well so can’t see it being an issue Getting paid.

Bl----y squirrels attacking my walnut tree. Last year we got about 500 walnuts from the tree after shooting 14 squirrels, this year they have attacked earlier while there is only soft green pulp in the nuts. I have managed to shoot 11 in the last 3 days but will not get many nuts this time round. I am trying to work out a way to stop them getting into the tree but obviously not easy. Maybe get some traps and have a concerted year round effort. Any bright ideas?
@jellybean Kania traps, painless and effective - just need to find a way to dispose of the results within DEFRA rules.

Meant I had to delay my return home by 6 hours and therefore missed putting my daughter to bed for the 4th night in a row.
The trouble is that although the police have arrested quite a few of the protesters, those protesters know full well that if they are taken to court that they will not have a punishment that will “scare the living daylights out of them” to deter them from doing it again.
Why Oh why ,are British judges so soft on offenders, :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Those water cannons Boris bought would’ve been the ideal things for clearing the roads of these crusties, shame they were sold. Imagine the job satisfaction of blasting a line of rent a mob activists into the ditch.

Until that seriously happens the activists ( anarchists to society) know they are on safe ground.
Unfortunately as politicians get younger, weaker ,soppy, and woke things are only going to get worse!!
It does not look good for the future of law and order in the Uk.
As their isn’t a deterrent to make people obey /fear breaking the law “It’s our human rights to protest” for f’s sake!!!!!!!!!!!

Just need to think out the box, find a way of disruptively protesting against their disruptive protest, like going and sitting in amongst them playing Kanye West’s version of Bohemian rhapsody on repeat very loudly.
