I have followed and contributed to views to other threads about red tractor. A lot of you are doing great work exposing the corruption of the organisation that support rt. I do wonder if more direct action may get more traction in the national media. I farm in the south east and my fuel delivery has been put back due to a few c. N. Ts sitting on a road. No prosecutions. I’m will to sit on a road for an hour to make a point. Better still a tractor will a fuel prob allegedly. could we organise a nation wide road Blockage. Any thoughts.

Let's start with blocking off those that are robbing us.

red tractor has a place for those who want to supply weetabix or the others on the list. You pay to be certified and you get a premium. any customer who uses it will be happy to pay a premium they charge a premium for their goods over own brand etc so its only fair they pay farmers for the privalidge

If you dont want to pay we have a self dec scheme sim to imports as if its good enough for them its good enough for us

Everyone happy with that?

or are red tractor scared there would be no premium for a premium product (In their eyes?

The premium should be paid for. The quality of the product I. E. Hagbergs protein etc. Not for a bit of paper as we all know you could be farm assured but the weather can ruin Hagbergs and so you are left with feed

i know what you mean jonnieboy about tractors. m25 is shut down by a few people that the met police are too soft to remove. If you all could get publicity. using tractors in rural areas with( fuel problems ) would also get media attention. The public don’t like closed roads. One hour of closed roads in the the uk would get a lot of media attention. Just needs a coordinated planning

I'm not one for illegal road blockages, although I do understand the level of frustration and anger.

Farmers legally protesting outside their Union's offices would be quite a news story. Protesting against the union who is supposed to help us, but isn't doing so.

Fight it with debate and reasoning at this juncture in time imho.

Think you're correct, RT are frightened the premium won't cover the compliance costs, and scared of losing farmer 'members', as deep down they know we're only members because we've no choice.

RT's new tag line...

Theoretically optional, but essentially compulsory.

It's bad isn't it.

Inconvenience those who we have beef by all means but anything that blocks public going about their business is a definite no from me, pissing people off gains nobody a friend, doing it in a £100,000 machine even less so. Secondly protests need a clear message and a clear aim, what is it?

I wonder how much those protesting had behind them, not a lot quite possibly, so not a lot to deprive them of if prosecuted.
Farmers have businesses and assets, more to lose in the event of a prosecution

The simplest way to protest is to stop paying to be in the scheme and sell "UK farm standard". It's the only way to bring this to an end. It's also the least time consuming and the most legal.

Most people joined the red tractor for no better reason than because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Seems like a good idea to get out now. So cancel your direct debit.

It's a big step but ultimately it's the only one guaranteed to work.

We can talk about something else then.
