Glyphosate shortage

I don’t know what the situation is at the moment. Last month my usual supplier had some but told me that they couldn’t allocate any to me, obviously my annual business isn’t of significance to them.
Tried Zantra, who I hadn’t done any previous business with, and they had plenty.

Zantra are my usual supplier. They have already delivered my glyphosate requirements for this autumn. Gone up in price of course 🙄

99% of our chems come from Agrii, they couldn’t supply us with any glyphosate last week. Had to go with Kyleo.
We’ll see if it clears up our odd patches of horse tail.

Was talking with a chem rep today and ours is coming out of the states. Has to be dual labeled to get it into Canada. French and English. Just in case someone wants to read it. Apparently the price is up by 30% From spring. I had a pallet delivered a short while back so hearing today that the salts that are used to make glysophate are in short supply because the factory in china is being told to haunt production because the power supply is needed to build the olympic arena. Not sure if it’s true or wat but kinda make me wonder if I should be asking for another pallet for next spring burn down.

I have told a few farmers who had problems with horse tail the best way I get rid of it Cambridge roll first to break the stem as it is a very waxy plant and then the glyphosate works better.

it’s only opinion that it seems to work for me

That sounds interesting.
They two years I had a go at farming at Bonanza in North Alberta I saw horsetail for the first time.
Whether true or not I was told it was one of the oldest plants on the planet, and the plant structure is very different to others , hence the reason very difficult to get glyphosate to translocate through the plant to the roots, to kill it.Is there any truth in what I have said? Many herbicides would burn the top off but it would recover.

Well we are getting used to the new normal without glyphosate. We used the terra disc before drilling OSR. It’s actually very clean now. A few volunteer cereals but don’t think we will need a BLW herbicide.
Everything else is being ploughed. We had found many weeds were getting resistant anyway without silly high doses, so actually from a decision making point of view life is easier with the plough.

Bear in mind this is not a recommended mix on the label. I think I am correct in saying you can spray each product separately, or at least record as such.;)
