Good company had washed granite for drains and crushed limestone for tracks off them last year and found them very good to deal with.

Good, had 500 tonnes or so of limestone off them this spring for a concrete pad, they've been good for grain haulage as well, drivers are always polishing the lorries in a spare moment!

Well when a farmer booked x amount of storage through a merchant and when it comes to start taking it in they say that the store is full. Not through the merchant over filling but themselves putting their own stuff in to fill it leaving farmers in the lurch. Also loads being booked in a week in advance only to be told when turns up they are full up. Coupled with the many others over the years. That’s why I’m shocked

I can honestly say that is not the case in my opinion.
Okay, reading your previous post it looks like you really have had a negative experience then?
Maybe I misinterpreted the question why are people shocked; and assumed that PX attracted the usual knockers, that a man having his day in the sun tends to attract.
its ok having your day in the sun as long as you don't spoil it for anyone else
History is littered with go-ahead bright young chaps who give it their best, last a few years pushing up rents in their own area, and wider, before finally having a "Change of farming policy" sale; and seamlessly being superseded by the next hopeful land agent's darling. Suspect it was ever thus.
I expect Jethro Tull's sons took on as much work as they could buy for miles around, utilising the families new bespoke Till Drill, and utilised relay teams of the latest German draft horses (which probably lived on fresh air and shat rich fertilizer), to pull it from dawn till dusk. Why, they probably even graced the pages of Ye Farmers Journal, pictured in woad corduroys and sporting stove-pipe hats.
Do not mistake this for sour grapes, it is not. Good luck to them for having a go.

Have you had a bad experience?
I mean I did send 10 loads of milling wheat there one year and they knock more than half down for something or other, but I assumed that as it was being stored for Frontier that it was them taking the p155?
James was on radio Cambridgeshire last week explaining how after a single year of investment in mega machinery for his potato and sugarbeet adventures he didnt sell a single spud to the intended market but dumped the entire crop from a rotting store into an AD plant. cant remember how much he said he'd lost, but didnt seem to mind.
Thinking about this, that is absolutely incredible. A multi million pound loss?!
