I often wonder why livestock markets don’t open car parks up as a truck stop , build a nice shower block and utilise cafes etc to the max .
Not that bad their are a lot worse counties we could live in, U.K. has its problems for sure but they are nothing compared to a hell of lot other places .They said there was a shortage or drivers to deliver fuel, not a shortage of fuel. Now there is both thanks to this sh!t shower of a country

No different to an other S106 arrangement on planning permission.May be. But if you were a landowner with 20 acres alongside the motorway, compulsory purchase or no, your agent would strike a multi £1000's deal with the district valuer. Who pays the bill? The taxpayer.
I'm not anti HGV and fully support the calls for decent facilities, but at the end of the day it comes down to cost.

Similar up here but some did rebuild on out of town sites and have large lorry parks sitting empty most of the time, and under utilised facility’s .We used to have exactly that in nearly every midlands market town. Then... they all became supermarkets and supermarket car parks
