If I want to blank off the EGR how do I do it?

Blank it off with a plate where the exhaust gases enter the EGR cooler from the exhaust manifold?

Does it need blanking off anywhere else?

Could I remove the whole lot and blank off the exhaust manifold and remove the EGR cooler and blank off the coolant lines?

I assume so .

It was done before we bought it only reason I noticed was because it's unplugged .

Derv doctor conversion back to a 20 series engine with standard turbo etc would be the direction I'd go if I had problems with it

You can't just blank it off it will overboost.

I got my 6140r egr mapped out by derv doctor. Was worried when tractor was running warm all the time when pulling. Now runs below half way. No blanking plate needed all software

Software is designed to have the vgt turbo at a certain point and gas flow going thru the egr. Cap it off you will have more gas flow thru the turbo and vgt needs to be tuned to be at a different point so It won't overboost.

Don't just cap it off. Get it deleted from the software and it will be fine.

How do you mean? The Turbo will overboost?

Yes, yes and yes. Coolant supply to the VGT needs to be re-routed (although some say they can be run dry without overheating)

You'll need the ECU properly flashed to remove the EGR function afterwards. Derv Dr will be your only man to do the job correctly here, as said, the vgt maps have to be altered to make it work correctly without egr.

He must be a busy chap! Surely he isn’t the only chap clever enough to do it properly?
Yes he’s busy and yes he is the only one who does it properly. There are 3 types of remappers
1:derv doctor who I’ve seen prof of him spending a day with a tractor on a dyno testing just to take a flat spot out.
2:middle of the road ones who’ll give you some power and smoke probably just buying maps of a franchise
3:some idiot who buys a laptop and some maps of a franchise dealer to make a quid not knowing what he’s at. Might even delete some software off the tractor to cock things up for you.

#3 arrive.. sometimes leave with the tractors ecu bricked or leave and the engine craps the bed or pto pack gets smoked due to them putting 200p on top. I've seen that on diff brands. Then they won't return to put it back to stock as they didn't keep the stock map 😂😂😂

The concept of needing a battery maintainer during flashing is waay beyond the mentality for some "remappers" ..
