Non Standard Construction House

Any thing to watch out for when buying a pre fab house?
Late 60’s, early 70’s, probably ex council house.
Daughter has put an offer in on the house, and when she showed me the details it said,

This property is modus construction pre fabricated house which has been skinned with brick and inspected by local authority.’

I said she needs to get a survey done, would she need to employ a specialist?
Could this property affect the mortgage offer? Research suggests there could be an increase in deposit and interest rate.
An internet search shows the property was last sold in January this year and has had some refurbishment done, flipped?
Any advice would be most appreciated.

RICS specialist. If it's ex authority they probably have done the remedial works - but the solicitor absolutely must get the certificate for the remedial works.

In essence, the steel ties between the panels need to be strengthened/replaced. If it has been fixed then there's no reason to not buy it other than it might be slightly harder to resell. As long as that's priced in then go for it.

Getting a mortgage will be the problem, the house might last another 100 years BUT mortgage companies don't like them and thats why they are cheaper.
