Terrible wages with the cost of living where it is ,especially if your only doing 38-40hrs.
Hence tax payers are financing these low paying companies by the way of Universal Credit , no family man can survive on minimum wage without government (tax payer ) assistance.

That's why no one want to work in this Country then possibly???
Nobody wants the s.hit jobs on s.h.it money anymore, we are going to have to pay higher wages to get the worse jobs done and wealthy business owners/shareholders are going to have to share the wealth . Nobody starts or stays working on farms just for the money though, sometimes doing the job you like is worth a paycut

It does depend on the area you live in.

Buying or renting in the SE is vastly different to West Wales.

House prices locally have risen 22% in the last year.

What you pay a person with basic skills has to be reflected in what you pay your better qualified or experienced staff.

If someone comes in for a few days to drive a tractor hauling silage trailers and you pay him £15/hour, your 12 days/fortnight herdsman on £30k ain't going to be too impressed when he realises he's a skilled man on £10/hr!

What’s the going rate for self employed worker for grain/bale carting stack bales just the labour?
You're self employed so you set the rate, what were you thinking of charging?
Area dependant, probably not much more than a tenner for basic work like that, less if you're only 18/19

Is anyone actually on, or pay the high rates mentioned on here?

When low paid farm workers (<£14.00ph) see the boss buying more land , new tractors and a new 4x4`s it has to grate when they drive home in their f**ked car to their rented terraced house, it`s the one industry where the employer really is living in the dark ages , in construction good workers are paid very well and at managerial levels often given the use of a new 4x4 to keep them on side.
