In the FW there is an article about the latest census figures from June.
It makes very interesting reading and also explains part of the Pig problem. There were 4.23 million pigs, a massive 5.4% increase in numbers on 2020.
Cattle numbers have fallen again with just over 5 million head, if you go back to 1984 then it was almost 8 million!
Sheep numbers down 2.7% to 14.6 million head. Breeding sheep down 1.9% but other sheep down more.
