@spin cycle you must be glowing with pride.....☺

several in there i shouldn't be considered for.....anyhow you all forgot my 'shoe in'.....'all year round accidental lambing farmer of the year' 😁....that said we've not had a lambing since june:oops:

thursday
'operation neddy rubble'.....when i first spied the heap, nev who was over for tea, agreed with me it was about 12t....i took half the next day.....by the time i got back the heap had grown.....by the same 'yardstick' there was 36t:oops::oops: ....i mean fecking ell:oops:....the place has been gutted...£2+million and it's been reduced to a shell:oops:...getting to the stage round here where perfectly good houses are gonna be demolished simply for the plot:(.....also nearby old asbestos grainstore for redevelopment 'under offer' at 500k:rolleyes:
again there was 'faffage' before i got started....finally about noon:rolleyes:......switched to little hi tip so more journeys but easier really:)....space is tight on site so we park trailer at ours then i forklift it from over at neddy's....only thing is that crossing the road i need a spotter so mrs spin is detailed😁 did 5 trips...about 18t total.....first two loads had big bits in so went on the heap....next three in the 'car park'....lovely stuff concrete floor/mortar /single brick/odd flint.....went down a treat:love:......like some nice clean hardcore me😗

friday
thought about carrying on 'operation neddy rubble' but had to abandon it....i needed to crack on before strawbs weekend rush.....being a saturday they could've parked in front yard but my working with digger/trailer/forklift might've spooked the horses:rolleyes:.....so necessity over came efficiency:rolleyes:

tonka levelled the rubble(y).....then it was second layer blend of road planings and 3/4 down stone.....all laid by forklift ....tipped out in heaps then levelled/consolidated by dragging bucket back(y).....by lunch that bit was done(y)

lunch + post.....decent bank statement(y)

bit grumpy/tired after lunch.....car park looked far from finished and still had soil to clear.....all looked a bit scruffy:(......but set to....soil cleared up....patch rubble/planings in places....then final 'coat' of stone....looks ok(y).....NOW....this is very important for aspiring 'bodgers';).....NEVER say a job is 'finished'.....if it's a repair ...it's 'running'....or a build ....'operational'......this because it gives you 'blagging room' if you're challenged on the quality/finish;)

finally got home and it's 'hididly doodly neighbour'.....neddy.....when am i after more rubble cos builders worried about space cos another wall has to come down😭

These are the same twits that lecture me about eating meat or stopping ploughing whilst knocking down perfectly good houses, how green is that?!?!?!?!?:mad::mad::mad::mad: apparently it's something to do with the fact that you get VAT back on a new build but not on renovations.............

i've heard cement contributes 8% of world co2 emissions

'THE WEEKEND OFF'

saturday

mu'ad dib had 2 spare tickets for city v brighton...'did i want them?'.....i coulda done with a rest but feck it....i went.....took the peacock with me .....after he realised i wasn't winding him up:oops:.......mrs spin on hand to corroborate my story;)

so odd jobs then off to footie.....cept it was complicated.....the peacocks were a car down and mrs peacock had a night shift at her nursing home...we might not be home in time for him to take her.....i had to pick peacock up and as result we were late:oops: ...missed first 10 mins:rolleyes:....never mind though....city played well despite the nil nil draw....though i gotta bitta 'rage' over the man of the match award....HE WAS OUR WORST PLAYER ON THE PITCH:banghead::banghead::banghead:

got caught in horrific traffic coming out....i tried some 'ignenious' alternate 'routes' on the way out....the peacock was amused and bewildered....'there's the bloomin ground again' as i sailed past whistling innocently:banghead:😁....on the way back we stopped at the nursing home to meet mrs peackock.....the peacock could then take the car home and pick her up in the morning after her 12 hour shift:oops:......cept mrs peacock was late:unsure:.....when she finally arrived it turned out she'd called in on her nags....gone into a stable and the bottom kick bolt had fallen closed trapping her in:oops:....she phoned the admiral (who'd just taken her pills) who managed to get outside and release her:rolleyes:

sunday

harvest festival........rounds then coupla odd bits in cinders stable...... as a result i was 10 mins late :bag:........sat down next to mrs spin.....the flanders behind us...kept feeling little prods in my back:scratchhead:....turning around there was a smiling neddy:scratchhead:....third time i thought 'right time to tell him i don't care what you were used to in hertfordshire i don't swing both ways'...only to find ,turning round, it was the rectors fekkin black labrador having a sniff:rolleyes:

service went on a bit but was nice and there were some good refreshments after:love:......mrs @sjt01 was there and had a chat with mrs spin:)...... the diary came up 😁 ......as it happened the in laws were over for lunch later.....mrs spin recounting her conversation was interrupted by father in law...' yeah me an him (sjt) came to the conclusion he (me) was a rum old boy'.....is that flattery:scratchhead:

monday....mission accomplished (y)

three jobs to do today...on top of usual

1/level the soil dug from the car park......tonka did it easily in less time than i thought(y)
2/ put in a few wooden fence posts for mrs peacock(y)
3/finish the stable repairs...took all afternoon but done:rolleyes:

in other news...
1/ K reported minor snottage on grazing marsh.....fencing repairs needed
2/ cheque from mart was late....i always have a figure in mind and it was inline with what i thought....av £96 after deductions so not spectacular but i'm not grumbling.....two exlana crosses only made £83/hd for 46.9 kg:(...dragged av down....but not so long ago i was happy with £83 for beltex/texel crosses so c'est la vie i guess:)
3/ had minor ram lamb breakout:rolleyes:
4/ fd has 'struck again':banghead:......gonna have to have a stern word with admiral tommoz:rolleyes:

bitta...good news to finish day....i've reached that 'age' when i got 'invited' for bowl cancer screening....it came back negative:)

tuesday

thought it was going to be a 'routine' day.....carrying on with 'operation neddy rubble'.....wasn't sure if job was going to run into weds so thought i'd do all odd forklift jobs before i took her off site;) ....tidied up the shingle and road planings heaps(y).....cleared new decent space for rubble.....then thought ' i'll move lamb weigher and some hurdles from hms sheep cycle into a barn....if it's nasty tommoz K and i can go thru ram lambs in dry'(y) .....so there i was loading up and i hear this noise 'bird?...kitten?...bird making sound like a kitten?.....had a look..oh feck it is a kitten:oops:'.....mrs spin summoned who eagerly caught him up:rolleyes:

'operation neddy rubble' went smoothly.....not quite as much as i thought....i've extracted another 25t approx and there's about 4t left....afternoon they started tipping rough 'clay marly' stuff on it so i quit when it got 'dirty'...i like my 'hardcore' clean😗😁 ...not gonna give up on 'double enterdres' cos at least weeta will laugh😁

SO:rolleyes:......straight on here for advice...TBH i shoulda included it in the diary earlier....but either to much other stuff or knacked😗
about a month ago i read an agriland story on here that toxo is present but undetected on 66 % of farms......that set me thinking back to last lambing.....was lamb% down a little?,,,did we have more weak lambs than we should?.....i contacted the vet viz toxovax.....they were happy to supply but time was obviously tight....apparently it only gets made in batches becuase it only has a shelf life of 10 days.....back then i coulda ordered for delivery today.....of course we'd then have to wait at least 3 weeks before tupping,,,in the meantime a strange cat has been about.....i stuck my head in the sand cos i was busy with other stuff:bag:...i hoped the cat was 'owned neuted etc':bag:.....then this morning i found this:banghead:
KITTEN PICTURE:rolleyes:
now i'm wondering what to do?,,,,,,delay tupping and vaccinate?,,....assuming i can get vaccine:rolleyes:,,,,thing is at what stage do ewes get infected...pre tupping or once in lamb?.....would i just be 'shutting the stable door' by vaccinating now?

whilst rubble carting i've been 'humming/haring' what to do:scratchhead:

1/carry on as normal and hope for the best?......not to fond of worrying all winter then having abortion storm:(
2/ get toxovax ordered and delay putting tups in?......could be december aka may lambing:rolleyes:
OR
3/given fert is £650/t and i've new wildlife offer scheme (cs) starting could i have a yr 'off' lambing ?
disadvantages....cash flow....BUT this'd be partly mitigated by cs.....i could also ,once organised, tup some vaccinated ewes august 22 for christmas lambing and earlier cash;)
advantages.....endless:oops:......cheap winter cos can use straw/barley to store ewes saving hay....get cs up running easier.....spread ewes out over grass saving fert.....take the opportunity to stitch some clover about the place....have some time renovating farm house...if fert price falls....could grow more corn or hay for nags

have i the 'balls' to go option 3?....or will admiral 'hang me for heresy'😁
