I see no reason for them not to supply, any firm reneging on a fertiliser deal would not last long.

I am sure no UK merchant would not supply any product landed at a U.K. Port

How are you fixed if your boat suddenly gets diverted or more likely delayed due to covid. The excuse everybody uses today which seems to cover any problem real or not.

There must be a massive temptation to double your money by the manufacturers and deliver the high priced fert before the lower stuff.

Are your contracts with the manufactures robust enough to cope with this unprecedented price increase?

The likely reduction in demand for nitrogen fertiliser is very substantial
many acres entered for stewardship options no fertiliser options

lower rates on grassland next year and reduced economic rates on cereals
£2kg of n rates over 160 kg are uneconomic buying the grain at £200 a tonne
lower n means lower other cost p k fungicide combine ing carting drying storage and delivery

if output fell 10% over the whole world because of dear nitrogen there would be severe food shortages and prices could go up30% i dont think the gov has considered this out yet could get very interesting
Makes you think if Putin saw this coming with the export taxes that they put on many months ago on wheat, also in full control of the gas taps.

Check the T&C's on the order confirmation. You might find "timing is not of the essence". But, as it's being delivered now I'd be amazed if you didn't get it as it would have been factored into production.

I'm in a similar situation having placed an order for lots of blue bags which are supposed to arrive this month. I've chased but not had a any response yet. I'm getting increasingly worried and won't rest easy until it's in the shed. It's gone up in price by more than I'll ever earn in a year so very important to me. I''ve planted crops assuming the value when I ordered not what it is now. Have many of you had your ordered fertiliser arrive?
