Robin Page used to say something similarAll the talk about equality racism and BLM isn’t it time that farmers and rural folk stood up against what can only be described as ‘rural persecution’
Or is that too strong of wording?
Rural communities need protecting and I feel very strongly about it too.

I believe the UK has more ancient trees than the rest of EuropeThe environmentalist doesn't seem to notice that the land has been shaped by us ALL
Where are all the old trees, probably gone for one of several possible uses over the years - whether burnt to keep us warm, for houses and furniture to keep us warm, or even for props down the mines - so we could keep warm
creating this illusion that the farmer cut them down so he could fit more wheat or sheep onto the property is available - but it isn't real.
What it represents is a general dodging of the fact that it was "us" who caused it, not just the farmer that occupies it now, but within that dodging of the truth becomes justification
it was all justified once, because people didn't care about the future, just the now.
You still see it, eg the farmers who don't want to do anything about the mistakes made before our time, they just want to grow as much crap as possible, and feel justified in doing that.
Who takes the high ground is probably going to not see this for what it is, but it is there to be seen.
People did this, millions of them
