Has anyone repaired a corroded hydraulic ram barrel successfully?
Also tonight I took my dog out for a walk as I do every night but arrived back home with 2 dogs

do not repair a rusty ram ,just asking to kill someone,
have you stolen someones dog ?

If the ram is corroded and is pitted internally as well as externally throw it it’s probably scrap.

It depends how rusty and what it's off ,if it's the actuator on the back of a tanker I'd say no problem but if it was a tilt ram on a loader you would need to be sure it would be 100 percent

Please dont, it will likely split after. Get a new barrel made or a new ram.

Only put weld on the ram if the second dog can work the welder for you

If not scrap the ram and buy new one

Sell the dog and use the money to buy a ram
Don’t get confused when buying a ram as you might end up with a woolly one

Was the second dog abducted from the yard where your stolen welder is? Are you holding it against its will until welder is returned?

Order a New ram and take the dogs for a walk while you're waiting for it. Not worth the risk.

My dog can weld but only oxyacetylene now as she was having problems with head mask but goggles are ok .. the ram is not mine it belongs to a guy I work for part time , he has now decided to take it to Newtown to get fixed
The dog was soon reunited with owner after putting details on line
Also the ram was off a timber crane
the right hand stabiliser jack

Investigating a leak on the Manipoo a while back, I took the crowd ram off, and discovered this crazy piece of work by the previous owner. There was a hairline crack to the left of that weld. I promptly bought a new ram....

And not from the norfolk hurdler
scrap the ram ,get a new tube made ,not worth risk
