Was just thinking the same today regarding flooding of nearby forestry plantation to create a wetland / slow the flow zone. What happens to the public footpath that runs though it when it’s under 2 foot or more of water?
One in the local parish is an aerosol that carries spray cans to paint over my signs.some must carry tools as they like to cut fences

It was originally Sandy heathland. It wasn’t flooded since it was drained 300 years ago. Before that it would probably have laid wet in winter but it’s unlikely the water would have got to any depth. The forestry commission bought it in the 1950’s and between tree roots and lack of maintenance the drainage system fell into disrepair. Now, to finish the job they are deliberately blocking up the main arterial watercourses that flow through it.Was it flooded in the past or is it artificial flood?
What was the initial reason for the footpath?
No. It will cost consumers a fortune. If everything gets re wilded it’s going to cost the electric companies a fortune to trim back the branches.
I might be wrong, but aren't they two different bodies - the national Park authority for the former and the council for the latter?
