ah,now that is an expression oft said but not one i like to hear cos basically means ive cocked up

With a bit of luck our smug getting stuff dried and away off the combine sales will turn out worse than the stuff that we sit on
@4course I was only joking about it being our worst sale, not that I have topped it yet but may have to sell 1 load just to say I have in case it all goes horribly wrong :(

can you really see anything that could cause such drops right now though ? Fert prices have never tripled before or supply of essential inputs ,like glyphosate never been in such doubt, low world stocks and production problems in various large production areas

what news could turn this market round to bearish now ?
An actual large South American harvest.
Covid lockdown.
Market drivers and profit takers.
Covid rebound has inflated all prices, some timber doubled in price for a while, but has dropped substantially in the last month. Are we going to see a drop in demand.
Fundamentally supply and demand will base the price, and at the moment I do not see any bearish news, hence why I still have quite a bit to sell.
I ended up carrying three hundred tonnes (15% of production)of Grp1 from 2020 harvest as I was sure our Uk small harvest would never satisfy demand, to see it suddenly drop from our best sales of £218.50 in May. Luckily we have todays prices to sell into, but that was by pure luck, hence my apprehension about a never ending bull run.
I haven't sold anything for Harvest 2022 🤷‍♂️

Offered £10 ton under feed for milling if un assured

pathetic considering in will be mixed with imports with no farm level assurance requirements

Definitely tell them to do one ! - if ever there was a year to get millers to turn their back on this daftness this is it

how about all milling wheat growers stipulate no “Red Tractor sticker will NOT be applied“ as a condition of sake this year ……… what they going to do ?

No hope there would always be some independent farmers who would deliver with stickers aplied
farmers inthe uk would never cooperate

Interesting on the European maize harvest

I suppose some extra might go into clamps yet?

Actually, a lot of maize that goes into AD plants then goes to make gas to go into the pipe line🤔

sad but probably true

maybe a peaceful protest ……. Everyone apply Red Tractor stickers upside down to show lack of support !
I know of a farm nearby that was using 2018 stickers as they hadn’t been in red tractor since then. Still getting wheat tipped at local feed mill. Chap on intake not looking hard at it . Shows their system isn’t robust or worth the paper it’s written on .

There Is a big difference to how each mill looks at the stickers. I had a load rejected as the sticker end date was October and the load was delivered in the first week of that month. I wasn’t un assured as the end date was 26th I think but the mill didn’t bother to check on the system.
