Good quality will pay as well as bad uns....well better than bad uns i would say, and job far more enjoyable, but good job we're all different and like summat different!
The thing is, it’s all about the profit margin, and some people seem to forget this until they do some truthful sums!! There’s plenty that buy the big fancy cattle because that’s what they’ve always done an like you say they like looking at cracking cattle but I bet if they looked at the books of someone buying the lower end cattle but doing them well, they’d wonder what was going wrong! Like you say we’re all different but some people’s egos are more needy than they’re bank account!! I on the other hand have a hungry bank account 🤷‍♂️

It all depends on individual circumstances doesnt it, this lad has his own farm ,all paid for, going into middle age, he was buying our blk calves for £1200.....he'll make them pay but it isnt all about money as long as you are paying your bills.

.....any markets doing store pig sales ? .....

Not sure if there are stores but Dumfries do a pig sale each month. Here are the sale reports - they held a sale on Monday but appears to be no report for it. I've never been in at one of these sales so no idea if any good (I also know bugger all about pigs except for liking bacon!)
