On the subject of tractor colours

My wife has townie friends who when out visiting couldn't understand why all my tractors of different ages were all the same colour of blue. And why my neighbours were all the same green. They thought we had them painted in our fleet colour like the lorry guys do.

They could not get their head round the fact that there was no choice in colour when buying say a JD or a Massey, or that NH is either blue or metallic blue on some models. When I said that Valtra were the only brand to offer a selection of colours they were astonished.
It had never crossed my mind that tractors weren't like cars, vans and lorries, as thats just how its always been.
Really, given that a tractor is well North of £100k nowadays, shouldn't we get to spec the colour just like on a car??

You can spec a fendt in any colour you like, and a jd aswell I think. Obviously you will pay extra.
Apart from jd pretty much every tractor only needs the bonnet, wings, maybe the roof and rims done to change the colour completely so hey, have at it.

I can only say from my view I cannot stand the look of a Valtra what ever colour and would never buy one. They may be good tractors. Seen the large one built in the MF factory.

The best looking tractors were from 20-30 years ago.

Case 956-1455

Ford 8210 III/TW-15 SQ

Fendt Favorit 800/900

MF 3000’s

Deere 4000’s

All very clean, distinctive design and imo, still very attractive today.

Honourable mention to Fiat 90 series and early 90’s Lamborghini.

Modern tractors look remarkably similar across all brands.
