Studies continue to show higher transmission in vaccinated.
The study you linked to doesn’t appear to show that. Did you read it, or just pick it up from a social media meme somewhere?

quote:
“The SAR in household contacts exposed to the delta variant was 25% (95% CI 18–33) for fully vaccinated individuals compared with 38% (24–53) in unvaccinated individuals.”

“Fully vaccinated individuals with delta variant infection had a faster (posterior probability >0·84) mean rate of viral load decline (0·95 log10 copies per mL per day) than did unvaccinated individuals with pre-alpha (0·69), alpha (0·82), or delta (0·79) variant infections.”

“Vaccination reduces the risk of delta variant infection and accelerates viral clearance.”

At least you still have a sense of humour, rate of spread/infections/ transmission however you want to phrase it is significantly higher than the claims made by vaccine manufacturers and governments to the point that there is more transmission per capita in the vaccinated. Hospitalization and deaths are where the vaccine works so why lie coerce and mandate in the name of false promises? I'll ask again since you disappeared the last time, are you not in any way disappointed by vaccine performance compared to your expectations?

Sorry, I must have missed your earlier question. No conscious disappearance on my part but just tired of going over old ground again and again, so tend to restrict my posting to picking up the more obvious errors like your one.

Not disappointed with vaccine performance at all - it reduces community transmission, reduces severity of infections and has made a massive difference to our lives - we can have acceptable hospitalisation alongside minimal need for social constraints.

Would I have been disappointed if I had expected it to be the cure-all solution? Probably yes, but with a first in a STEM degree I’d like to think I’m scientifically literate enough to understand the difference between the hype and published data - if you were disappointed, or indeed are loathe to take the vaccine, and given the way you managed to conclude what you did in post 3657, then I suspect you’re not.

Yes you proved how literate you were in our last exchange a few weeks ago. I'm perfectly happy with vaccine performance and if it proves safe in 15 years time when I'm over 50 I might even take it. I can see no strong evidence that it affects transmission, there is no correlation between case numbers and vaccine uptake across usa counties or 68 countries worldwide according to a recent study. IF the booster makes a significant difference to transmission I may have to reconsider as family gets older but will wait for the numbers. Kids wont get it for a long time so hopefully booster will be enough to protect grandparents.

Hope they enforce it properly so there is clear evidence that vaccinated are spreading it just the same. No doubt it will be timed at the peak of a wave so it looks like it worked.

Studies continue to show higher transmission in vaccinated.

Given the overlapping confidence intervals, this study doesn't seem to show much either way.
Is possible vaccinated is better than unvaccinated (no previous covid exposure)and worse than unvaccinated (previous covid infection)?
That these balance out in some way.

Health workers are supposed to work in hospitals not become the patients in a way that was mostly avoidable.

If you are a health worker who is fit and healthy and believe that your previous covid infection protects both you and your patients, you must be sacked rather than have a vaccine that offers no benefit and risk of death ...
That's how we roll
