Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Ludlow store cattle. Best suckled calves looked cheap, big framed feeders not silly money but too many plain blue x dairy that will only ever grade an 0+. A lot of cold cattle about that will take some warming up. Trade picked up for the last 40 or so, couldn't get them sold quickly enough. Don't what they give them for breakfast out there but 50% of the entry was batshit crazy.

Only ever done 1 c section on a ewe, it was a 3 crop pure Suffolk ewe for some reason hadn’t opened up properly, no previous lambing problems. I could get a finger in and the lamb was alive. Result was 2 live tup lambs. Ewe died 6 weeks later tho 🙄
Did you have a good do yesterday at Longtown? I thought you just had mules in?The mart report had some Suffolks in :) . Hexham store lambs very dear today. Nearly every texel £100 or more.Trade seemed to increase £5 head or more as the sale went on.

They were ok. Not as good as the ones that went deadweight on monday tho. The one in the report was a 59kg texel tup out of a pure suffolk ewe. ( it had a blackish/ grey head). Al stick to deadweight, suits my lambs better also doesn’t mean 9 hours away from home.
