Covid Vaccine Roll out.

Yes it is amazing if you think the vaccine works at doing what they said it would 6 months ago.
More cases amongst 100 vaccinated people than 100 unvaccinated people.

The vaccine stops people getting seriously ill and ending up in hospital or dead.

I`m sure you can understand that and may wish to do a comparison between case numbers, hospital admissions and deaths over the last 12 months.

Cases are far, far less important than they were last year.

There is also the behavioural changes to consider - vaccinated folk are going to be going about their lives "as normal" which may include NOT doing hands-face-space. Ergo - higher risk of transmission, get a bit poorly , test positive, get well.

Unlike the unvaccinated who are far more likely to end up in hospital, very poorly or dead.

Not even a consideration for age? Just vaccinated vs not. The vaccinated 60 plus who are going about there lives as normal as you talk about are putting more lives at risk than anybody under 40.

I can only speak from our Trust but this is our mandatory pre-employment list for front line staff and anyone who may come into contact with "bodily fluids".

"You MUST attach a copy of your immunisations / vaccinations and blood test results that you have had from other OH Services / Training Institutions to this form :
1. Hepatitis B Vaccination dates and Antibody results
2. Hepatitis B Surface Antigen
3. HIV
4. Hepatitis C
5. Measles, Mumps and Rubella Date of 2 vaccinations or Antibody results
6. Chicken Pox History or Antibody results
7. BCG date of vaccination or Heaf / Mantoux Test results "

So nothing that doesn't have longterm safety data available to make an informed decision.

We've been told we should be living our lives as normal for the last 18 months, now we can do that relatively safely we still get blamed.

Who is we? Not sure what "group" you're in but yes live your life as normal. (Presumably you dont normally concern yourself with what vaccinations other people have had.)

Depends how you would define longterm safety data.
HepB vaccine was only developed/approved around 1986.
Our pre-employment form included it when my wife started in late 1999.

I`m no fan of mandating things , I would rather folk used common sense but, as we have learnt, thats not very common.

13 years would be significantly longer than 13 months, I'd be happy with that.

It's actually long term safety data of the type of drug that is required.
The mechanism for populations acquiring immunity from traditional vaccines has been trialled for decades.
If I felt myself at all at risk from covid I would get a traditional vaccine for it.
Cetainly would not be genetically modifying my body to produce a poorly understood amount of potentially harmful protein.
