Labour have Steven Kinnock lurking in the background .
In my view ,though he is the son of a hard left labour, he is very Tory in his thinking and speech . Labour would have to swing over to the right fir him to get up to be leader but they did that for Blair .
Bearing in mind a lot of northern seats went to Tory at the last election then it would be a clever move for Labour to choose a leader like S.Kinnock to get them back on board .
My point is ....if S Kinnock became leader then whoever replaces Boris won't last .......
Neil Kinnock wasn't hard left, much more popular than Starmer, Stephen Kinnock wouldn't be up against Maggie. Could he overhaul the shadow cabinet, which for all Starmer's faults, is his biggest problem.

Would that be the Steven kinnock who campaigned to overturn the referendum and wanted another vote ? I doubt those in the traditional labour constituencies that voted to leave will forget that, he is just another snout in the trough just like his parents
Might be in the Tories interest to drag out NI negotiations, because Brexit is history otherwise.

I can’t understand why Starmer feels the need to appease the hard left in his party. He’s got no mettle and obviously no appetite for the fight. He permanently looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights whilst his dim deputy loses them more votes every time she runs her mouth off.

It just makes me angry that the Lib Dems fecked up the opportunity to bring in some form of proportional representation.

That was more the illiteracy of the general electorate in the UK. The Libs managed to get the Tory b'stds to run the AV referendum. AV is not PR but it was the only compromise. But the general electorate just could not understand what it was all about. So the general electorate continue to reap what they sow. Christ there was only a 42% tunrout. Sad, sad day in 2011. Led to everything since.

He was the one person campaigning to remain that was consistent and pretty honest.
Although I didn't agree with his view I did respect what he was saying and whilst I hold the Kinnocks in some contempt for the way they milked UK politics, he is definitely a very capable fellow.

I don't agree.

The proposed AV was not an improvement.

The illiteracy of the general electorate was in not supporting the Lib Dems in the next election after being responsible for almost every good decision that the coalition government had made.
{They got dumped 'because Nick Clegg broke his promise', when in reality he was responsible for making tuition fees affordable.}

Tories parachuted someone in!! Never looks good to me but, who knows...
Didn’t work in our constituency years ago. Ludlow went lib dem for the only time ever.

reading about the Tory guy though, he did work at Gabowen hospital and was in the forces at Tern hill, so not a total stranger.

would still be nice for the wildlings to give the Tories a bloody nose though!
