other prices
quad hay £28 of farm and £25 and £21 delivered
4 string £30
round hay £12
small hay £3.50 delivered
round silage £16
small straw £2.20 and £1.60

about half the lots in the catalogue weren't sold
Very good demand for square bales of hay either ex farm or delivered!

Wheat straw per tonne delivered made £86 ton and the Square bale barley made £30 bale x3 tonne so £90 ton delivered in.

Fodder prices will i suspect climb in the NY unless the price of Fert drastically alters from its current high price.

the big if, if fert stays high. I rather expect it will, it's firmly in the sights of the climate change gang, and to be fair, it's not very green ! So price, either by supply, or tax, less will be used.
Which l think isn't a bad thing, less fert, lower production, less food, = higher prices.
Haven't asked for any prices recently, know of someone who bought at £700, and have been told of £800, whether correct, no idea, but for sure, use will be frugal, and targeted. Which wont be a bad thing.
Fert is something you just 'use', it's an easy answer to make crops grow, and because it's convenient, and available, other methods of creating fertility, have lapsed, shite rotation etc, will have a 'revival'. In the meantime, a barn full of spare hay, might be cheap insurance !

Noticing very little fodder coming down the M4 recently. We’re fully stocked up with English hay and straw for a few weeks which is unusual for us at this time of year, I think due to our merchant being a bit quieter than normal.
We’re still very busy doing deliveries to horse yards around Swansea/Carmarthenshire.
