I don’t think the first of the front mowers floated as well as they could have , so changes were made .What was modified?

Yes that’s the modelIs the Kuhn you are looking at a FC3125DF-FF, we've had one since 2016
Pretty good mower plenty of float.
When you hit something (like stump) replace the curved pipe arms + pipe bar across front + ,your away.
The header frame is very strong but the droppers down to the bed are bolted so should break instead of having to straighten or replace it
Can now get 5mm thick blades for them.
There were a few teething problems , but knowing Mchales they have sorted them out by now.I thought there were gearbox issues with them
Yes customer of ours has had gearbox problems on a mchale.I thought there were gearbox issues with them
Mchale paint work is terrible, no undercoat, mchale bed has been a problem here, just buy the Kuhn and forget about the other. We just swapped ours for two Krones, the front one is the pull type so will see how we go with it but not heard any bad reports
There made here but I don’t know of any out working
Okay so narrowed my search down for a front mower conditioner to a new Kuhn or new mchale . Bearing in mind haven’t had or used a front before but needs to float well for my ground. Krone and Claas dealers can’t be arsed chasing up any kind of sale while Kuhn and mchale are keen. Kuhn is £1800 dearer than mchale , I’m just hesitant on the mchale as lot of mixed reports and not many local sold. Kuhn is heavier than mchale. Finance wise similar terms. Probably swaying for the Kuhn . Opinions?
I am beginning to contemplate a replacement moco to my McHale, it is only 2018 and has done nothing but it makes me wince every time I lift it up and the tractor leans to the right. I have seen a few of these 630 635 and 530 moco’s about here for sale of the mid 20teen vintage. We only do probably 80-100 ha a year so age isn’t too scary but I was wondering if there was anything to be concerned about with them or their Kuhn cousins.

Go get yourself a claas outHave a set of mchale here to try. The front is currently away back to the dealer as the conditioner gearbox has lost its oil. It does follow the ground well.
