Think I've got nearly 50 "likes".
Maybe we should let them eat it then, since most of the loudest vegans seem to be menopausal women and they might cure themselves.Doesn't soya naturally contain phytoestrogens? Which makes it good for menopausal women but less good for pre teenage and teenage boys?
ADHD has sweet f.a to do with what you feed them !
I think a lot of medical disorders are now being found to have their origin in the micro biome, which we have co evolved with, our micro biome is affected by the food we eat, so I disagree with you on that note. This book goes into it, very interesting read.ADHD has sweet f.a to do with what you feed them !
I agree, I think we eat far too little fibre in our diets, but far too much sugar and processed grains, and meat/milk is part of a balanced diet.Nothing wrong with lentils and other pulses in the diet. Tofu has drawbacks as it's highly processed. Best tell the Scouts about the environmental impact of soya.
In the book I mentioned above, she wonders if autism is caused by changes in the gut biome at a crucial point in brain development, and the changed microbes in the gut don't produce the specific chemicals needed to move on brain development. No way it can be proven but one of Mrs Bgs best friends has a son with ADHD/ autism I would say it’s severe but I am far from an expert. The mum has been a veggie for the majority of the time she and mrs Bg have known each other, 40 years now.
It took a few years to work out but the mum discovered that diet had a massive effect on her son. For that reason he is a carnivore and she and her daughter are still veggie.

Trouble is, there are now so many thousand comments I can't find it to like it.Think I've got nearly 50 "likes".
"Scouts banned from UK farmland" - would be a nice headline to put them back in their box.

Ear infections are very common in children, these are treated by antibiotics (because in a few cases they become very serious, so doctors do not want to take the risk and prescribe). Ear infections are common in children because the ear does not drain well in a child. These anti biotics cause a change in the gut biome which leads to the brain developing differently.
I cut my leg on a gate in August, got a bad infection, and had strong antibiotics twice, my guts still haven't fully recovered.Depending on what you read, the gut takes a fairly long time to recover from antibiotics. I think we will see a wholesale change in how these are prescribed IE more folk will just have to "tough it out" from minor infections.

I don't think the heating with microwaves is the problem so much as what crap processed food is being heated.... It is certain heating food with a microwave doesnt produce the potentially harmful acrylamide formed during toasting, roasting and frying..... As I do much prefer toasted, roasted and fried far more than microwaved that in itself probably means the microwave is the healthier option! It's all very complicated and near impossible to understand the impacts of modern life when so much is changing.
I think it is quite possible that heating food using microwaves might be a significant factor.

A little different but I know Amoxicillin had a negative effect on the enamel development of our daughters teethThats interesting, my son had severe ear infections as a child, bad enough for him not to hear properly for a few years and need speech therapy. He cannot take penicillin now (he is 24) as it will not work on any infection he picks up. He doesnt have ADHD etc but I am sure too much antibiotic didnt help him and we did try to limit its use as much as possible.
