Made a (hopefully) wife-proof incinerator out of some off-cuts of mezzanine flooring.

This was almost a quick bodge but took me several hours so it failed on the 'quick' part.

Clearly that isn't wife proof. There is a great big hole in the top of it, through which one could most like get out of it.... Oh and I can't condone trying to incinerate wives.

Std rods? Im only asking as I’ve one that’s heading towards replacement was gonna heat it then layers with std rods
up to you but I use 7018 rods (olikeron supercitos are nice i find (for 7018's) to weld with ) 4mm or 5mm if i can get them and run them at in the region of 200 to 300 amps on AC .
what ive done in the past to help weld in a better position ..... is tipped a trailer over (carefully) with the loader /handler .
but anyway best to take your time on it and give it some thought.

I like to weld the new eye to a nice new piece of 20mm plate (on the workbench) cut to the right shape for the trailer drawbar but over sized so when you weld to the trailer you can get a good weld round the edges without being upside down. I trust my way 100% and am happy when it’s done this way.

That not a how to do it. But a how I do it.

Done a few like that or open the drawbar up and weld the eye inside the box or even cut the bottom of the box the width of the eye and weld it top and bottom

We recently painted a building using some paint Dad had picked up god knows when, thought it was great until 48hrs later when trying to give it a second coat because the erectors were coming, it still wasn't dry and worse than that the second coat pulled the first off and also mixed in with the primer underneath.... Always use new paint
