You risk opening a whole can of worms, - some would argue you need a waste carriers license for collecting up dobbins waste products.

I think if you put a concrete pad down you then have to have a collection tank for any liquid that comes off it (eg from rain seeping through the heap).

Probably yes under catchment sensitive farming but i expect they would want you to build a muck store with a roof!
I believe the rules have changed since I looked at such a project. I declined, when I realised that if I had an inspection over the following 10 years and anything other than muck was under the canopy, I'd have to repay all the grant monies and a possible penalty.

Surely that's fair enough, if they've paid for a muck store then that's all it should be used for. Ten years goes quick though.... We've just repurposed a building that was grant aided for a feeding area
My question was based on the store being used for 2-3 wet months of the year, before spreading in Spring.
It would be unsused 3/4 of the year...

I can see what you are saying but I suppose that's the sacrifice for having some financial help towards it. After ten years you do have a building you can do as you wish with

Well first your farm has to be inside a Catchment Sensitive Area. Then contact the CSFO (Catchment Sensitive Farming Officer) to discuss and go from there

I'm in a catchment sensitive area, the CSFO says I don't qualify for Concrete yard renewal, or covered muck store, or rainwater harvesting off cattle sheds, as too far from a watercourse or drain!!!Well first your farm has to be inside a Catchment Sensitive Area. Then i'm told I can't spread fym in autumn as it leaches into the river!!
How far are you from a watercourse ?
Unfortunately if the csfo say you don’t qualify then you won’t get anything. I got some concrete as I’m in a high risk sediment area but I asked for a sprayer shed/ filling area and there isn’t any money for in my area.

CSFO said I was too far from stream. I drew them a map of the main drain from my yard, runs out about 25m from the stream, down a gully.

Check on the csf map to see if you are in a yellow or red area, red means more capital options could be open to you
