How Do You Clean Your Tractor, Or Dont You?

Was never that impressed with my foam gun UNTILL I realised it was mostly the chemical I was using was crap.

Switched to Jenychem snowstorm TFR (Green one) now and miles better and next to no nasty white water Mark's after. I use it on my van and dont even bother to sponge or brush now either! Foam on wait up to 5 minutes and wash off, sometimes if really bad I repeat it again but never need to lift a brush or sponge.

The second thing I did was buy a smaller nozzle for the foam gun, if you unscrew the inlet on the guns there is a small nozzle I bought a smaller one and now it foams up much thicker.

Third thing is to rinse the foam gun out after use and occasionally clean the mesh filter behind the fan nozzle.

What happens if you put a snowfoam type product just through a standard low pressure chem lance with venturi chemical tank uptake?

Do you use it in the rain? Do you take it into nasty muddy fields? Do you have a life?

On a more serious note, does anyone think they get more trading in a super shiny tractor than one in it's working clothes (well used but not a sh it heap) ?
Probably not worth more to trade in but theres plenty of folk locally that will buy it off farm as they know its history and it's been looked after, so yes it's worth more then. Personally I couldn't care about resale, from my perspective it's about having some pride in what you do, some might pull the p1ss but I've not lost any sleep about it yet

Guess it's about individuals priorities. I'd rather grease it than wash it. I know which will make it last longer.

We've had a great spell of weather and been using it for what we bought it for/work. It's in a
Some of this driving in socks malarkey tells me some of you havent enough work to do! By all means keep it clean and tidy, but its a tractor ffs, you're not living in the thing, get some work done!

How to blow the cab out?? Case tractor, right hand door basically unopenable so what do you do, Open left door and rear window and stand (without falling off) at the back of the cab and try to blow the dust out of the door or?

I don't see why everyone is making the comparison that if a tractor is clean they have too much time/not doing any work?

Even after a couple of long days it takes 10 minutes to blow the worst off with the volume washer and brush out the cab.

I appreciate its more difficult if you don't have a dedicated wash area and have to start dragging a power washer out. Definitely the biggest factor in keeping a tractor or machine clean for me, being able to pull up and turn a lever and start washing.

Edit to say in fact, having a dirty tractor would probably reduce my work rate. Dirty windows, things not where they're supposed to be, problems not spotted because it's caked in sh!t.

Open the RH catch and unlatch it, the door/window will swing all the way round

They are usually the ones still running about at 8pm “just finishing up” before a quick bite and bed and back out at 5am again. f**k that!!

There's a difference between keeping your tractor clean with a swill down a couple of times a week and obsessively cleaning. If someone wants to go to the levels that @ColinV6 Does then that is up to them, but it is beyond what is financially necessary. You might get a couple of grand back but it won't pay. The dealers all use valeters these say that can make a dirty tractor look good (albeit not to the standard shown above), so it just isn't necessary.

If you like a clean tractor, good for you, everyone needs a hobby. If you aren't bothered, it isn't anyone's right to look down on you. Mine is somewhere in the middle, its nice when its clean, it gets dirty when I use it and sometimes I would rather drive a dirty tractor and go home and see my family. Live and let live.

I might have a go with that ceramic stuff though!

It all depends on work load and whether or not you're the boss. Colin's gear is a credit to him but it doesn't have a huge workload.
Start pulling 16 hour days for a few weeks at a time and add in all the daily maintenance of something like a baler and time gets precious.
I don't think many employers would pay someone to go to Colin's levels though.

Personally I don't like too much pressure washing on something with large amounts of electrics, plus every time you wash, you need to re grease.
