Thought there would be more reaction to these figures. Most of Forum members must be JD supporters. Two bits I found surprising on a table comparing 2019and 20, Class very significantly lower sales, ad Argo/MacCormick only one about same sales both years.
Came Across this just last week that shows the trend since 1996 so based on the table above I would say there is very little change year on year. CNH I guess technically have overtaken JD in overall sales for the first time since 2004 ish but given how close it has been over the last few years I would agree with you its just natural fluctuation. Could even be driven by model cycles?

Surprised to see claas below kubota.

I wonder if the "above 50hp" bracket is now bringing in the top end of the lawn / groundcare market which might explain why the kubota number is surprisingly high. The article that accompanied the graph I posted had a good piece on average HP per year, back in 1996 I think it was around 100hp and now its over 170hp I think or certainly around those numbers if I remember correctly.
HRN have also done a good trade in Kubota since the JD franchise moved so if that is repeated across a few areas then its maybe not quite as surprising.
if you look at distinct brands rather than parent companies its quite shocking the difference in market share.

Barclay effect will be the biggest impact in JD. New tractor sales and not giving a premium for underwriting used John Deere’s from other dealers

Quite different here. For 2021 Claas is going to be fighting Deere for second place, Fendt'll be 4th or 5th.
