John Deere reducing dealerships

Exactly that’s why I don’t understand it 😂. Case had very good backup in Cornwall why they took it away from them I don’t know.
From what I was told it was numbers and not selling enough !
Had a large order from very large veg grower which they refused for various reasons , Case obviously thought they should have excepted the order & asked the other dealer if he was given the franchise would he except the order , he said yes , got the franchise , the order turned out to be for 1/4 of the number of tractors originally asked for .

There is also rumours that a salesman asked for a job within cnh twice which would have left the franchise is jeopardy, how much truth there is to that I don't know but I heard it from a fairly reliable source

I can’t understand that. Isn’t a case not far off the price of a Deere?
I don't know about price, did have a puma 175 on demo in the summer and ex-demo of that would have been circa 90k but not sure how that compares to a deere? I think it's more about people not liking how John deere are treating their dealerships ie: dictating which brands they can and can't sell etc

I see it slipping away too , and valtras rising every year now.
Hahahaha John Deere market share in 2019 27%, Valtra 7%

Valtra share in 2009 - 5% so they have gained 2% market share in 10 years

John Deere on the other hand have consistently been above 25% for 20 years you really think that is going to change any time soon?

There will no doubt be fluctuations in market share but in terms of individual brands JD will be topping the charts in the UK for a long time to come, there are core JD buyers who won't go anywhere else the same way there are core buyers of other brands too the difference is the share of those core buyers is much larger.

CNH and AGCO only come close with all their brands combined

Your 100% right , when Jd have a great dealer network who do give great service they have a very loyal customer base , so loyal that they can overcharge for tractors and service and get away with it.

Spec for spec, there was hardly anything in it between a 175r and a puma 175. So little so, ordered the Deere. 11 yrs case on this farm and 5 tractors but one of the last batch hasn’t been great and was the right time to look elsewhere.

If you already have JDs then its its the price to change that matters. Don't think there is anything in it service cost wise dealer to dealer? They are all expensive. I can't fault JDs parts back up.

Never say never, MF and Ford used to hold around 60% market share between them, each vying to be market leader by 1% year in year out.

A couple of simple design bo-bo's and some awful models soon changed that.

Yeah that is definitely a fair point, but design, engineering and quality have all come a long way since the 90s so I think its less likely to happen now.
