OP has a great looking outfit but it really needs a following harrow to bury the seed. I would still roll it anyways regardless.
powerharrow is the work of the devil for reseeds
no........Powerharrow is a mainstay around here, very versatile tool. It's the ploughing that makes seed beds loose and puffy.
no........
ploughed then rolled then fluffed up with a PH
then farmers complain for ever more that the field is rough and has wheelings in it
"ahhh but thats a waste of time,i got cows to milk see"It has to be levelled up and rolled properly afterwards I agree with that.

You will end up with the seed to deep , don't get overly concerned about covering seed as long as it's rolledThanks for replies,
i have been searching abit more and have found some that can spread the seed between the levelling board and packer roller on the power harrow, which should mean that the packer would cover the seed a small amount and then flat roll after to get the seed to soil contact the best possible way. Meaning a run with the harrow after seeding will not be needed
Have found a grass harrow with air seeder for sale at not bad money, i would believe they would work alright at overseeding a bare field after sheep after a few passes to gather a tilth. Bearing in mind it get manages properly afterwards!Been sowing grass seed for over 50 years Fiddles Buckets Wagtails all sorts , without question this is the best machine I've ever seen work , that system can sow a field every time within a few ounces

Have used an old Fiona drill with tubes removed so really just broadcasting for years ,have a pole with following chains on the back to slightly rumble the seed in a bit then roll .have done a fair few acres usually power harrow before BUT NOT IN TOO DEEPLast few fields we put back into grass we used the 4m accord DL to scratch it into the surface, and cross drilled at half rate. Doesn't take long since you can fairly fly along with it.
One or two was after ploughing/power harrowing, a couple were into barley stubble that had been short disced.
Would it do forage rape in to burnt of Pp?Been sowing grass seed for over 50 years Fiddles Buckets Wagtails all sorts , without question this is the best machine I've ever seen work , that system can sow a field every time within a few ounces

You would need to chop it up a bit , disk or Rotor Spike would do itWould it do forage rape in to burnt of Pp?
We used to have a fiona drill the same way, all tubes removed. But it ended up sowing really wonky for some reason. And you had to keep checking there was seed evenly spread along the box hopper.Have used an old Fiona drill with tubes removed so really just broadcasting for years ,have a pole with following chains on the back to slightly rumble the seed in a bit then roll .have done a fair few acres usually power harrow before BUT NOT IN TOO DEEP
Good tool
