So this sold on Saturday at DDM's sale at Epworth - for £66,500 + 5% commission. How I wish I had ordered one in 2003 instead of listening to my Father and ordering a 6920S

Wonder was it an agri competition that bought her? 66 grand is a lot of money for a 20 year old tractor.

A pre - common rail JD 6920S. It has been a good tractor- apart from the head gasket and radiator issues. Now relegated to pulling the trailed sprayer & driving mobile dryer sometimes

Id ne happy enough at that price if i was lookin a large tractor. Be a heap better than a new massey, case or nh way them hours thats for sure
I gots to ask............what is it about these tractors that makes them so popular ?

They rarely break down, are just the right weight for their power (and vice versa) and are good for many many hours. Plus they sound awesome.
I always wonder that, even the number sequence on the bonnet is a copy of something the JD will never manage to be

I wouldn't agree with the don't breakdown statement. Had engine put rod through the side at 5000h and plenty other issues. Drink well to.

Yes your right the Ford is a far superior tractor

taken over ,they all had their issues , just like now ,
would rather put 66 k into a derv doctered r series or a late 30 series than that old 7810:,
Think combine was a import which may not have been as good a spec as uk model
